Interior design and execution of new offices for non-profit organization Ryckevelde.
At the beginning of 2015 we finished the interior design for non-profit organization Ryckevelde. The previous 60 years, the organization spend in an old castle on the outskirts of Bruges. Until recent they decided to move to a new location in the center of the city.
The brief was short. As the client explaint us, moving from the castle to the new location whould be as a shock to their clients. From the founding date, 60 years ago, they have reside at Ryckevelde castle, hense the name. So it was important to make creative references to the old lady. We reused tables, found in the attic. Sanded the metal legs, repaint and put a new layer of pinewood worktops.
We also retrieved a nice large carpet and old green boards. The client gave us a ton of old pictures from the founding fathers and all of who had been at the castle all those years. And loads of old maps from European and other countries. We used that material to design a geometrical pattern and make a mural at the new site.
It turned out to be a great project which the client and we are equally proud of. ‘The result exceeded our expectations: it is warm, super nice and totally who we are. And to hear the enthusiastic reactions of passers-by and customers, we are not the only ones who feel this way…’
